After I built the
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I needed a place to sit. So I built a quick stool. This was my first project that required combination angle and bevel cuts, which my shitty Ryobi miter saw handled pretty well. I say pretty well because the saw is configured in such a way that when I made the first cut, it ate the plastic guide to pieces!
Anyway below are some pictures. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Side note: Pocket hole joiners are the best!

Haha I was going to call this “A Stool Post”, but then I was like nah there will be poop jokes no matter what, I need not encourage them.

Very nice! What kind of pocket hole jig do you use?

I feel like if I tried this it wouldn’t be safe to use. that looks sturdy and stable! good job!

Looks great! I need a pocket hole joiner.

Thanks! It’s a Kreg K4 . I had no idea what it was or how to use it, as I got it as a gift from my Mom. Someone told her that I needed one if I was getting into woodworking, and boy was that person right!

That’s nice! I’m impressed by the finish. What did you use there?

Thanks! I feel like that every time I start a project. The pocket hole joiner is the magic that makes it look (and be) so sturdy.

Thanks! It’s a combo stain/polyurethane (satin finish). It’s not quite as nice doing it the hard way (3 coats of stain then 3 coats of poly), but it saves a ton of time. The only down side to the combination stuff is that it’s thicker, and drips dry fast. So where you could normally buff it out with a towel, you have to sand and re apply (or live with it).

That’s one fine specimen of a...four-legged, no-backed sitting implement.
Kregs are amazing. They’re the only tool where everyone I know has completely changed their projects based on owning one.

Haha thanks. I love everything Kreg makes. After receiving the joiner as a gift I’ve picked up, the Multi-Mark tool , a bunch of clamps, and I’ve got my eye on their router table as well.

Nicely done! I’ve been wanting to make a similar stool for my garage. Partially as an excuse to use the miter saw, and partially as a place to sit. What angle did you do the legs at?
