Keep plugging erection puns into .kinja.com and you’ll eventually find it if there is one.

Lifehacker used to run the “Workshop” sub-blog for a short while, which often ran woodworking pieces, but they stopped right around the time Timothy Dahl left. He went to Popular Mechanics, but that’s outside the Kinjaverse...

I agree with all that say to just post on OPPO. I’m sure plenty of us will be interested.

I might know my way around a spokeshave..

My projects so far have been pretty limited, garden boxes, bench tops, refinished a kitchen table.. Currently working on a set of paddles for the family..

I’m in the same boat more or less I stared with a workbench . Then I built a stool for the workbench. I’m currently working on a jacuzzi pump cover/Garden box for my inlaws.

My goal is to build everything that I might need in my workshop myself. Minus the router table above.

I’d be interested in one.

I’m a Furniture design student and I spend almost all of my time in the woodshop. I would definitely like a separate kinja that I could ask questions or suggestions to when going through projects. I feel like I have questions too frequently for Oppo.

That table is sweet! I’d like to do something like that when I get my router table. Is that a kit, or did you build that from scratch?

Scratch, of my own design too. The trays are magnetic.

Wow man that is awesome! I work in IT, and more or less hate the shit out of it. Working with wood would be a dream job. I’ve really been considering an early mid life crisis to do that or something similar.

Having gone from hobby to semi-pro (student with a few odd commissioned pieces) I can say it’s great, but it’s very different. Very stressful having real deadlines with material sourcing, as well as having to rush things when using dangerous equipment. I’m also surrounded by novices that could seriously injure me or others if they’re not careful.

With any luck though once I graduate with my degree in Industrial Design I won’t have to work in a shop all the time, ideally I’ll spend the rest of my life drawing, CADing, and the occasional prototype. It is a lot of fun, but very different from hobby woodworking.
