This picture is almost a year old, but better late then never. I saw an opponaut driving their BMW 20002 at the DC/MD line. I didn’t get a chance to wave unfortunately.

I like how you also blurred out the rando license plate on the honda fit. I dont quite understand the point of blocking plates online in general. Not really sure what anyone could do with that info. Unless something illegal is going on I suppose haha.

Do we have an official Oppo wave? I’ll need something to distinguish my gesticulations from the standard WRX wave. I need to know so that the Oppo I’m chasing down doesn’t think I’m some random lunatic. I want them to know that I’m an Oppo lunatic. :)

I do know that plate blocking is strictly enforced on Just Rolled Into The Shop, because providing identifying info even to that extent has caused some problems, and being able to criticize a horribly dumb treatment of a car is fraught with almost as many legal issues as showing that a shop is doing something with a car that the owner has beef with. Looking up an owner for a car really just requires an in with some authority - it’s not as privacy-protected in most states as it might be.

I have a hunch that the licence plate is BA 8048

We do, and it’s the finger. Better flip both of them for double Oppo points.

I know the Ontario DriveClean lookup, you can enter a plate or VIN to look it up, no passwords or authentication needed. You can track down which area that car may be in. Managed to use that to trace down my old car to somewhere up north.

Yup, i could definitely see how it makes sense on that sub. Would definitely reduce the quality of posts if people had to worry about repercussions of that stuff. I guess moreso its the on the street in a non commercial purpose setting, it doesnt make sense. I would think if its easily visible on any car, its no different than being on the internet.
