I can’t hate Ben Folds. I can’t not love him even though I want to.

Ben Folds is the a shit. He puts on an amazing live show and gives a shit about music programs in schools.

In all seriousness, his Chat Roulette show is what I consider to be humanity’s high point. It’s what I would show aliens if I had to give a reason not to exterminate earthlings.

Can’t you get the job done without the B-word in the heading? It’s just a hateful, entirely sexist word, in spite of however you may think you meant it. And decidedly not excellent.
Thank you. That is all.

Firstly, in my defense, any “[noun], bitches” is a breaking bad reference.
I also do genuinely make an attempt to not put profanity in titles (it was very hard to reference Blue Velvet and censor “fuck that shit!”)
It is a sexist term and I don’t have a response to that, besides saying you’re right. I won’t apologize for it, but I do genuinely like you for taking exception to it, for what that’s worth.

If I didn’t stand up and say something, then I would be derelict in my duty to maintain civilized society. That the word is a Breaking Bad reference is something that would be completely lost on me.
I like you too; that’s why I said something.
Ain’t Oppo a wonderful place?

And I genuinely like you for not getting defensive.

I really appreciate you pointing it out. It’s hard to be part of a transition when something should be verboten, but I genuinely appreciate comments like that, because it’s how hateful things fall out of fashion.

There’s also an important distinction to be made, which is that I do not perceive you to be hateful at all, and didn’t in the first place. I assume that you realize it, but still. And you didn’t get defensive about it either.
I am a 52-year-old straight, square White man trying to apply salve to some of the social open wounds — which are being scraped open by the current POTUS administration — in our society. I have taken plenty of hits and had many proverbial yellow flags thrown at me over the years and I’ve never ducked, never run and hid. I am also an educator and conversations like the one that you and I are sharing are often called courageous conversations in social justice circles.
I don’t mean to sound preachy or patronizing and if I come across that way at all, please accept my apology. Try as we might, absent the face-to-face nuances of expression and vocal tone, typed words sometimes miss.
Where are you located?
