You keep playing with my emotions Le Mans! As my ‘Post-Le Mans Depression’ kicks in, I eagerly await next year. What a race that was.

Meanwhile Toyota is begging the stewards to let them race the TS020 again.

Next year I just hope there’s more than two competitors in P1 and that the P2 drivers stop driving like a bag of dicks.
This year GTE- Pro was definitely were the best racing was at.

My post Le Mans ritual has become running thousands of simulated laps over the next 2 months. Already logged 75 since the race ended.

The TS050 is 17 seconds a lap faster than the TS020. Amazing how far technology has come in 18 years.

We won’t be seeing any new manufacturers in LMP1 until 2020 when the new regulations come in. No point spending hundreds of millions to design a car which will be obsolete in 2 years.

What so it can repeat 2017 which for Toyota was basically a repeat of 1999?

But in style!

I’ve got the Oppo 2.4LM later today. It’s a good start.

2016's turbo failure still hurts more than this year’s Toyota issues.

Understandable.

No manufacture is going to invest the money into a factory team/car that’s only eligible for two more years. We’ll get more privateer LMP1s next year, hopefully. But don’t expect a change in LMP2. It’s a Pro-Am category and should remain that way.

I think I am going to do the Project CARS 24 hours of Le Mans at some point this summer. Probably only a 6 hour time accelerated sim.

The post Le Mans hangover is a real thing.

That’d be fun. I’d race a lot more in PCars but using a controller in that game is literally hitler.

I watched till about 7 hours to go before in went to bed. Woke up to see the Porsche 2 take the lead. That’s when the just woke up fog lifted and I realized the 2 was umpteen laps down when I last watched and the car it passed was a P2.
For the GT field I loved watching the Vette and Aston fight for the win. I’m a Corvette Racing fan but I also pull for Aston in the WEC so that ending was amazing.

I think I fell asleep with eight hours to go woke up just after the #1 Porsche was removed from timing and scoring, so roughly five hours later. Hearing the Radio Le Mans say an LMP2 was leading was like a bucket of cold water, I was instantly awake.
GTE was a great battle all race long. I try to not have bias towards a manufacturer in WEC GTE-Pro or IMSA GTLM, which is hard between national pride (Corvette), being a Porschephile, and adoring the car that helped draw me into the sport (Aston Martin). But seeing the Aston win, that’s what I needed.
