I am going to enjoy abusing the musclecar people over this. “runs good pending assembly”and “sure it’s in GREAT shape, for a white trash rocket” I’ve been more a victim of classic cars than a beneficiary and have no need to sell so I’m gonna make it hard to extract my revenge on the car community. If someone wants a fastback with a fast forward engine option they can pay.

It is sort of night and day between how I’ve interacted with guys in the muscle-car vs. race community.

Race guys will give you like ten grand in parts for a few bucks, but muscle-car guys will try to screw you for every cent while standing in front of the opulent mansion that they bought for pennies decades ago.

Make sure to include “no lowballers, I know what I have” and “if you know anything about these”.

“Frame rails are probably done for, I’ll give you two hundred bucks or trade for this 5-speed”

Some of them think it’s an honour to work on their Shelby or Cuda, it’s not.

Need to boot the Vega because Mr. Belvedere is coming back for his third visit.

As you can see I’m a huge sucker for orphan, unprofitable, worthless, expensive, ugly projects(the best kind). Note the 5 foot long uninterrupted chunk of bondo. (tore off with bare hands).

I’m actually really impressed you managed to yank five feet of Bondo off without it tearing in half. #blessed

I’m now questioning whether or not I need another yellow Mustang fastback...

got a couple fast forward engines too. actually I’ve got an extra complete cleveland drivetrain. I’ll still have a cowl for you when this is gone.

Coincidentally my father is the same way. He was selling a first-year GMC Pickup (1936) last summer and had it parked on his driveway one weekend, a few people stopped by and one came back later that week to buy the thing. My dad said “sorry, I already put it back in the garage” and the dude was in disbelief and said, “what does that mean, I can’t buy it?” to which my father replied, “come back when it’s parked outside again.”

He did this with a 1960's John Deere tractor, an RV, a zero radius mower, and countless other things over my lifetime. I love it.
