Nice looking ride, a few years ago there was a guy who daily drove one for a year. It was a fun blog.

Alright then, now show us the pictures of your neighbor’s time machine and the bill of sale showing when he bought it from Obama.

I’ve ridden shotgun a couple times. Fingers crossed I’ll get a chance to drive it soon!

Sweet!! Interesting seats, are they original? I would have expected a bench, but they do look pretty old school.

Is the wheel color original? I never imagined them having funky colors like that back then.

I’m more interested to see if he keeps it. Everytime I hear stories like this it goes something like “12 year restoration completed! Time to sell it and get something else.” just some wierd thing about guys who like difficult projects more than the cars themselves. Nothing wrong with it, just wierds me out, kit car guys are the same way.
Looks great though.

Now that’s beautiful, good to see another classic saved.

Now what is he going to do?
![]() 06/12/2017 at 10:52 |

Nah, I think he’s keeping this one for the foreseeable future. He’s talking about selling his NA Miata (my first car, that I sold to him) now that he has too many cars.

Everything is either original (body, frame engine), a new factory replacement part (wheels, running boards, grille), or hand-built by my neighbor to factory specification (rear trunk). He spend ages sandblasting and repainting everything, including every engine component, so he could recondition as many original parts as possible. Btw, the rear seats are a bench.

Awesome. Must’ve taken so much work. But the results are worth it!
