That truck makes me want that truck. Or one like it. I saw a rat rod 40s Ford pickup today. They had some old milk jugs in the back to hit the aftermarket fuel cell. Like this kind

I doubt this truck has ever seen the inside of a garage. Probably wouldn’t even fit in most garages.

And now the primer has sunburn. If you look close you can see the peeling on the roof.

That’s a cool idea! This one is very ratty, and mildly rodded.

Very nice. An uncle of mine had one sitting around for decades before a friend of my mom’s bought it off of him and revived it last year. It’s still rocking the original I6 (with some refreshing) but the rest of the drivetrain has been swapped in from a modern S-10 for more usable gearing. It’s both delightful and a bit sketchy to drive on account of there being power nothing and the I6 barely being able to handle highway speeds, but then again, it’s a good 15 years older than anything else I had driven before. Regardless, the owner has plans to fix that last point with some manner of SBC engine, but the patina is definitely there to stay.

Nice! Unfortunately someone already swapped out the original 305 V6 ( yes, V6 ). The upside is it has a cammed 350 with an Edelbrock carb and intake mated to Hedman headers. It still has the original Dana 44 LSD in the the rear. For the first year I DD’d it. It handles freeways nicely and will easily do 70-80 mph. She’s still waiting for me to swap a fresh transmission into her.

Make sure to hit up Sun Up and Helio Basin breweries. Also, OHSO makes really good hard liquor. For awesome tacos hit up Tacos Tijuana which sets up at 67th Avenue and Thunderbird on weekends and Taqueria Los Yaquis which sets up at 7th Avenue and Camelback. If you want some very legit Mexican food that is kind of pricey go to Bario Cafe Gran Reserva on Grand and 15th Avenue. It is not for picky eaters though. I’ll be road tripping around the western US from the 20th through the second week of July so I won’t be in town.
