Hail indeed! Those things are a freaking TARDIS. If they just had enough demand to upgrade the interiors and styling with the rest of their line up, I’d like to think they’d have a resurgence in the market.

Precisely. I’m not exactly a small guy. Because of the width I can’t use the armrest on the drivers seat and instead use the one on the passenger chair. But I don’t really care - the size feels just right. I’m there to drive , not stretch out like I’m in my living room.

I would love a first gen as a 2nd car since I’m stuck with my NC for a few years, but being relatively new they’re just too expensive, maybe someday. I do really want some kind of van, that’s most of craigslisting these days, although I can’t afford anything at all ATM so I guess the price difference doesn’t really matter.

yep, basically a tall 3 wagon - like a Rondo, Mitsubishi or Ford C-Max. Not a speed demon but fun, and super useful. It’s too bad that segment just has been obliterated in the states.

Actually the Mazda 5 is 4” longer and 1" wider than a Type 2 Kombi. Longer wheelbase too.

Nah, (although USB ports would be nice) what it needs is the skyactiv-g with the 6 speed. 30+mpg highway would be amazeballs.
