Seeing as how it’s now June and summer enough for me, anyone else have some summer reading they’re planning on doing? I picked this up the other day since I’ve enjoyed some of Thomas King’s other work. Since I’ll probably be done it in a few days or a week, anyone have any other book suggestions?

I’ve also already read the Communist Manifesto, so there goes the hard hitter on your list.

I’m a big fan of the author Mark Greaney right now. He started out working with Tom Clancy on his last few books. Then he has continued to write the Tom Clancy novels after his passing. In addition to the Tom Clancy universe novels, Greaney has also done his own “Gray Man” series.

I have read all of the Gray Man books and most of the Tom Clancy ones. I am just a big fan of the ultra-realisitic military stories and such. Makes the real world seem a little less scary honestly lol. But anyways, my current list include the latest Clancy novel “True Faith and Allegiance” and the newest Gray Man novel “Gunmetal Gray”. Those are LONG books so that should take me like the whole summer to get through.

I’m more the type to read stuff by Hunter S. Thompson like “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. In more recent years the Neil Young biography “Shakey”. Burt Bacharach bio from a few years ago. “The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test” by Tom Wolfe. Recently “Jackie’s Girl” by Kathy Mckeon.

Since I’m about 100 years behind the times I think I’ll finally read game of thrones.

Tried reading it a few years ago, found it to be a complete slog and gave up. Your mileage may vary.
