All of my vehicles can park behind my gate in and around the carport.
By phone, I am told $4000 to $5000 to repair the carport and replace its roof with one that will properly shed water. There is no immediate structural peril.
One of my dreams is to build a garage, and I easily have space for a 3 car garage with work space. But how much will that cost? If that is what I want, he said to wait until I have the money to do the whole thing. The problem is that I don’t know what the cost will be if I I hold off to build a garage, and part of me thinks it is a waste of money. But man, I want a garage.

I was running through this a couple years ago. price can vary wildly based on size, exterior fanciness and interior features. For a 2 car the range I was hearing was 10-30k depending on how crazy.
the greatest benefit is added security, protection from the elements and can work later without pissing off neighbors.

Odd question, but since you seem to live in a temperate place, how about some sort of hybrid?

I’d just fix the car port, car ports are awesome.

Any pre-fab garages that would fit?

I’m spending a lot, probably too much on my garage expansion. It will not increase house value as much as the construction cost. Whatever. I have wanted this for ovet a decade.
Have you considered enclosing the carport?

I feel its worth noting that when you have a garage, it can extend the life of your paint and weatherstripping. Something that i think really matters with a car as nice and rare as the Celica. But that said, CA is a pretty mellow climate. Garage in Canada is an absolute must.
