I’ve started my trip around the US on my motorcycle, feel free to bookmark my blog if you want to follow along. I would post on Oppo more but it’s just too much to try to post on multiple sites when I’m on the road all the time.

Starting on the east side of Toledo I see. Which direction are you heading?

I stopped there briefly for a couple pictures. Traveling south in Ohio today to the Triple Nickel and then headed East towards New York.

I love that you’re doing this on a FZ.

I debated getting a bigger adventure bike, but I love the light weight of this and the torque. It’s just a fun bike and I decided to go with what I got instead of shopping around for something better suited. I’m enjoying it!

I enjoy seeing people do long distance motorcycle trips like this, reminds me that I really wont have any issues doing so with my Miata. Anytime I think a trip seems far or difficult, I have to remember that I have the option to close my roof and have two extra wheels to keep me among the living.

Awesome! A bit of advice - Make sure you go thru WV on the way south. Aim your GPS for Elkins, WV, and then pick up Route 250 from there, and take it all the way South / East to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Fuel is a bit sparse, so make sure you fill up when you can.

Also, don’t pick up any hitchhikers near the federal prison. There are several signs to remind you in case you forget.

Cool. This is something I would like to try someday so I’ll be following along!

It’s a good thing you definitely aren’t doing this on a Ducati(except on a multistrada)

Good luck, stay safe, and have a great time! I hope to be able to do a similar trip some day.

Good luck, man. Should be a blast. I did something similar (except on four wheels) in 2013 and leave this weekend to start another big adventure out west. Alaska is the main goal this time around but my official plan extends about two weeks from now, and from there who knows haha.

Thanks for the suggestion! The Appalachians are definitely on my list to drive/camp through on the way down. And I don’t think I could fit any escaped prisoners on my bike, I used all available space haha

Nice! I’m keeping Alaska in mind once I get out West, something I’d love to do but we’ll see how I feel after a couple more months of this.

I know I’ve seen at least one story about a guy who bought a Panigale and took it cross-country. Anything’s possible!

I was thinking about AK for that last trip but I’m glad I didn’t even try. It’s so huge and so far out of the way from anywhere I went that it deserves its own trip. I was actually originally planning to do the east coast as well but there’s SO much to see out west and I had already seen a decent amount of the east so I skipped it.

If/when you do Yellowstone, make sure you go out the northeast exit of the park and do the Beartooth Highway .

There’s SO much to do our west. I’m in jersey right and and there’s cool stuff around here but I really can’t wait to get out west
