Now its game time. Still have a file from 17 years ago that I downloaded from Napster (sue me Metallica) that has 960 Nintendo and 300+ Super Nintendo roms and the emulators to play them. Lost interest long ago but now that I got a controller working I’m going to be sneaking some old school games in here and there. The wife will be over the moon that I started this shit again...

PS3 controllers work pretty well for NES emulators, but you may notice some delay in fast action sequences, like higher levels of Tetris & Dr Mario. I built a RetroPie emulator machine for my gf using PS3 controllers, and they used to give her trouble in late stages of games. We’ve since swapped to a Buffalo USB Super-Nintendo-Style controller that we like a lot more. That Bluetooth connection adds a surprising amount of lag.

Sticking with wired so should be halfway ok. It doesn’t seem to be any worse than the ones I used to own that were specifically for the pc. And since a ps3 controller has been gripped in my hands for thousands of hours through the years it just feels right.

Are you using SCP server/driver? That’s the best one that I’ve been using, if you’ve tried out motioninjoy or betterDS3 they tend to cause more problems long term.

Yes the xbox drivers + scp. Seems great really responsive. Found it on a steam forum that was talking about the various ways to make it work. Was just about to purchase some controllers off Amazon then thought why not use what I already have.

I made the same choice. PS3 controllers are just too comfortable for my hands.
