Remember everyone, don’t leave your keys in your car while you are getting gas.

After all that, she lost her wallet and phone anyways. ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! )

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This is a PSA for me, because I’m sure this is exactly how Mrs McMike fuels up. With garage door openers and keyless everything in her car, she hasn’t pulled her keys out of her purse in months.

I’m not sure this Outback was keyless, but the PSA remains the same

Just another sad consequence of the dearth of usable pockets in women’s clothing.

A) Of course the thief came from a deville with a collapsed rear suspension...guy was looking for an upgrade!

B) That was the most amateur effort from the thieves on all counts. Dude didn’t even try to get away and when he hopped back in his friends’ car they just kinda sauntered on with their day like the only thing they did was play some scratch-offs

Sadly with all the car-involved crime going on in Milwaukee lately, she should have known better.

Its the mindset that you worked hard to purchase that vehicle (or other property for that matter), and some lazy POS fuck-trumpet walks up and tries to take it from you because they want it without working to purchase their own.

I know, right?

Not that I wear women’s clothing, I just live with a woman who likes pockets and is constantly disappointed with just about every pair of pants, shorts, skirt, or dress she tries on.

Her phone and wallet were in the car too. That probably crossed her mind when she realized what was happening.

Why would I take my keys out of the ignition when getting gas? I’m not some petrol-scented pleb. I live in New Jersey, someone else pumps my gas for me.

Yea I feel that to a degree. If someone tried to steal my M3 I would probably fight back as I’ve got 10 years and thousands of dollars in it. Also the insurance pay out might not get me all of the way to a new one with that car. But anything else “Seeya!” Not getting shot or run over with your own car is the best!

It’s almost like they were having a conversation:

Driver: Well, that didn’t work. What do you say we grab something to eat?

Front passenger: OK

*thief jumps in back seat*

Driver: Where should we go? Wendy’s?

*thief closes rear door*

Thief: (now panting) Nah, I ate there yesterday. How about Five Guys?

Front passenger: I hate their french fries, how about TGIFridays?

*all pause while they watch Subaru slowly idle into traffic*

Driver: I only have $10.

Back passenger: (still panting) I got her wallet and phone.

Driver: TGIFridays it is

people leave keys in cars?

I guess the proximity kind it would make no difference.

In other news, a Subaru Outback is now officially an SUV.

Exactly my thought. Most of the time I’m getting gas, my kids are in the car. I never lock the car, even if I have the keys. I would put my damn fist right through the window, even if it would (definitely) break my hand in the process.

Kinja'd!!! McMike > MonkeePuzzle

If it was keyless and she had the fob with her, it’s likely it would not have started because the keys need to be inside the car for the ignition to be active.

I think I read this Outback has a keyed ignition. If so, she left them in the ignition.

blows my mind that people’s instinctual motion when they turn off a car isn’t to withdraw the keys.

that said, I lost my phone from my pocket while filling up yesterday. it was in the glove box... I don’t recall putting it there

Kinja'd!!! WilliamsSW > functionoverfashion
05/25/2017 at 09:42

Yes - I almost always have my keys in my pocket, even with the keyless entry. And I don’t lock the car while pumping, unless I have to go inside to pay (with the pump off of course).

Just like the news referring to every rifle as “AK-47.”

If it’s not a sedan or a pickup truck, it’s “SUV”

I’m impressed with her bravery, THEN she runs after the vehicle, opens the door, jumps in, and stops it.

99.5% of the population would of gasped as the car rolled away, and .4% would of tried to open the door, but fall down. I want to marry this woman!

Even if I’m working on a car in the driveway I’ll pull the keys and put them on the floor, or in the cup holder or something.

That kind of determination and willpower can have it’s downsides, though.

*shopping for furniture*

I like this sofa

It’s too expensive, the one at the other store looks the same and is half the price and has cupholde....

We are getting this sofa

But it’s..

Go wait in the car.

She left her keys in her car while looking at her cell phone and filling up gas. She then jumps onto the hood of her insured piece of property now being piloted by a guy who has no problem committing felonies in broad daylight. What was her end game? Was she going to fight a car full of guys over her insured Subaru?

That wasn’t bravery, that was pure, unadulterated ignorance. That was growing up in a gated community.

I was more referring to the jumping on the hood of the car than leaving the keys in the ignition. Even if an insurance company makes difficult, it’s still better than being injured or dead

Stupid - Leaves keys in car.
Stupid - Jumps on top of car driven by a person in the process of displaying that they make bad decisions.
Stupid - She jumps in moving SUV to stop it because no one has ever been run over by their own vehicle.
Result -She is an idiot.

The maths don’t lie.
