This is a radio tower I specified years ago for a local water district. The branches had deteriorated over the years so they decided to get it “reconditioned”. The pole is 120-feet tall. That lift is tall, no thanks.
Fun fact: the branches are RF compliant and the first section of the tree has fake textured bark.

Yeah, that second pic is a code brown for me and I’m not even scared of heights.

I’ll Be in a lift this week, or maybe my crew, but it won’t be that tall. Did the wheels on that one spread out, I used a 125 like that and to go up so high you had to spread ‘em.
There is also a “tree” like that in my town. I doubt it’s native to the area.

These “trees” are always so absurd to me given that while they sort of look like trees, the fact they are twice as tall as the surrounding canopy kills the illusion immediately. You may as well choose the palm tree instead of the pine just to delight in the absurdity (I also might be weird in that I don’t consider normal cell towers to be hideous eyesores). Some of the other fake cell towers (statues, light posts, flag poles, etc.) are interesting though.

I didn’t see the lift in person so I don’t know if the wheels spread out. I know these guys do this all the time so I assume they know what they are doing and what equipment to use.

This one is a “pine” tree. It actually blends in to the surroundings quite well. It is the nicest camouflage radio/cell tower money can buy. It is really impressive to look at it from about 1/4 of a mile away. You really have to try hard to pick it out. The Palm Tree model looks really odd at this height otherwise we might have chosen it, their palm tree towers looks very realistic too.

My friend once worked in a company that provided various lifting services. Once took me sightseeing 38 meters up with their truck. So it went only slightly higher than that basket, but it was a huge sturdy 4 axle truck. And it still wobbled a lot when it was fully extended.
I can’t believe that this flimsy looking thing could go so high with that kind of chassis. It doesn’t even have support legs.

tahts not bad, and I’d vote its better than just a plain tower.
the cell tower ones are often very obvious because the antennas at the top give it such an un-cone-like shape

Typically you want to spread the wheels as much as possible no matter how high up. I would think they would have had the wheels spread at that height, but the photo looks like they aren’t. No beuno.

If you look at how wide that thing is compared to the pickup truck, I’d bet those wheels are spread out fully. Imagine how careful you’d have to be, operating that lift fully extended. If you weren’t posting this as a picture you just took, I’d almost say it was photoshopped.
