I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those before, or at least remembered.

Slightly less forgettable than a K-Car.

Was it parked outside of a cocaine factory?

I don’t even remember seeing more than a handful of these when they were new.

I think they were more popular in the late ‘70s, and by the time the last few trickled off of the assembly line in the mid ‘80s the design was on life support.

These cars are just so oddly proprtioned. It’s almost like the chassis was never meant to be a sporty liftback.

Well considering I was born in the early 80's that might explain it. Though I still remember seeing a shit ton of Horizons and Reliants.

If you think that the hatch is oddly proportioned just look up the Rampage.

Well, Horizons and Reliants were cheap, whereas this was a more expensive, sportier, more premium product (yes, I had to stifle the laughter when I wrote that...) See Rabbit vs Scirocco.

Last one I saw was this delivery mileage concept at an auction in Florida a few months ago. Looked a lot better than a standard Turismo, same crummy 2.2L 4 banger and Omni/Horizon mechanicals though. http://barnfinds.com/120-mile-concept-1982-plymouth-turismo-s-660/

Whoa - that was so ‘80s that I just turned neon...

But that’s not a Duster. This is a Duster (especially with rubber floor coverings and a 3-speed manual):
