The block looks to be an LS block.

V8 and a car frame.

Easy questions.

Could be. Has the small windows in the cargo area, and definitely a hatch. Strut brace seems a bit intense for a Focus though?

Hmmmm. The massive fixed strut tower base has me thinking it could be a Tesla. (already answered LS on the engine, obviously).

In fact, the more I look at it, the more obvious the it is that it’s a Tesla. No transmission tunnel, thick boxed front clip frame with no opening for front axles. So it clearly can’t accommodate a conventional engine without modification. Rear hatch back. Etc.

Is someone swapping an engine into one?

I’ve always wondered how rigid that chassis is. It’s basically a body on frame vehicle and it has an open hatch area, which doesn’t do it any favors in the rigidity department. But with most of its mass way down low, and the supposed rigidness of the frame with the batteries in place, I imagine you wouldn’t detect much flex in the body.

What are the plans for the Tesla?

Was pretty sure it was an LS, but thought that was too easy and wondered if it was going to be a trick question. Guess I overthought it.

Also your LS block has AFM. dem em pee gees

Well I’ve never paid attention to the focus too much. But yeah everything is too beefy to be a hatch.

How can you tell it has AFM???

See those 8 studs in the valley? Non-AFM engines don’t have those. There are 4 cylinders that shut down, each one gets two of those studs. The 3D-printed model you have doesn’t show it, but each one is supposed to have a hole in it. They deliver the oil to the collapsible lifters that make the cylinders shut down.

Kinja'd!!!

Here’s an article on how it works if you want.
