McKee Howmet TX, made to test the competitive use of a turbine engine in sports car racing. It was the first turbine engined car to win a race. So far it is the only turbine engined car to win a race, and it was the first to do so.

I worked at a local history museum out of college years ago. The very first Concours the museum sponsored had one of these show up.
It is unbelieveably tiny in person. I recall it felt about the size of an Elise, if that. And the noise. The noise it makes is glorious. That howl is just so wrong coming from a car.
I took pictures, but I think they’ve been lost in the ether. I’ll have to look around my files and see if they are indeed saved anywhere. I suspect I have lost them in a transition between computers over the years.
