Formule du jour with a galette, fried egg, ham and mushrooms accompanied by a bowl of traditional cider filled exactly to the 20cl mark and followed by a chocolate crepe, all for €11.50.
I then went to pay the total of €12.80 including coffee . Credit card not authorised after a long delay. Ditto with debit card. Had I cash? Not enough. Went to cash machine and returned with two €20 notes. Fine? No, they didn’t have enough small change. We settled for all the cash I had which came to about €11.70.
I used the card twice after that elsewhere but each time contactless payment was rejected and I had to resort to the PIN. Odd.
