I really don’t want this to happen but if Trump doesn’t go soon, I fear that a Republican supporter that has been lied to will show up to their congressperson’s town hall meeting and try to shoot up the place.

News has gotten really interesting in recent years as so many people have taken to linking directly to Twitter, etc. If they don’t rehost the image themselves, this is what a lot of us at work/school see (here, CNN, Fox, you name it) thanks to web filtering. It definitely makes for confusing reading, since nobody holds a strong opinion about the Passat one way or the other.

If anything is Instagrammed/Facebooked/Twitter, etc...I don’t see it either. Lots of nice blank posts to look at.

Pro tip: Kinja lets you add custom thumbnails to twitter, instagram, etc. posts to get the images to show up in places like the sidebar. Just paste the twitter or whatever else URL, then click on the embedded element it creates, and it gives you a little hover-over thing to add a thumbnail.

I fear that if Trump gets the boot, we’ll have President Pence, and the Republicans will actually do things they want to do.

He really pulled an Obama with that one, didn’t he? It appears that it’s now hip to select a VP that’s so batshit that nobody will want to kill you...

Agreed, but way too much damage has been done.

We can figure how to rid ourselves of Pence as we go.

I seriously don’t have faith that enough republicans in the house will get off their butts to vote for impeachment. Maaybee if things keep going sour at this rate they’ll want to cut ties before the 2018 midterms. But then it’ll head to the senate, where they’ll need 67 votes to successfully impeach him – but of course Mitch McTurtle and his goons - without midterms hanging over their heads like the house does - will keep playing these same old games and won’t do a damn thing. Unless a huge bombshell drops I really don’t see this changing any time soon.

Someone please tell me I’m wrong.

I was worried about that too, but his complete impotence at his current position alleviates some of my concerns.

Most of the pence kind of damage can be stopped in 2018 and undone in 2020... the trump type of damage takes a lot longer to fix, if it can ever be repaired.

That’s like, not even on the same continent as where I was going.

I think Pence is capable of working with a republican congress to pass republican laws and that would be a Very Bad Thing.™

Trump is an idiot but he hasn’t damaged much. His incompetence is getting in the way of Republicans passing more of their agenda. Which is a good thing. In the totally hypothetical situation of a Republican congress working with president Pence, they’d get more done, and I don’t want that.
