Even though I don’t like convertibles.

Welcome to the club! People hate us.

I used to not like convertibles, then I drove one. The first drive didn’t sell me, but the thing grew on me. Now I’m seriously considering buying one for myself.

I still want to get a Miata, although the fact that it’s a convertible is something I’ll just have to live with.

I’ve got some great memories in convertibles (PCH to northern California in mom’s Fiat 124, hot summer nights through the orange groves in Irvine), but they’re just something that I don’t aspire to own (except a Miata despite it being a convertible. Oh, and an R129). The Sebring I had in Maui should have been enough to scare me away, but I view that as an anomaly.

Convertibles are awesome. Fact.

agree - those are some of the bet looking convertibles. I had previous boss that had a silver 330ci for a while (manual even) - the lines are just so perfect with the top down.

The car that sold me on convertibles is my mom’s NB Miata, so that may be a factor. I’ve been eyeballing MR-2 Spyders lately. Same age as an NB, but mid-engined, lighter, and no Mazda-rust.

I like my cars like I like my women - lots of curves. Chopping off the top loses that detail and just makes them look kind of boat-like.
(but it’s a nice looking boat...)

Rust just means lighter weight...

I just bought my first convertible (kind of - it’s a long story). It’s amazing. I haven’t looked for excuses to drive the way I have been lately since I was 16.
Also, it’s insane how cheap e46 m3s are right now. I’ve had my immaculate coupe listed at 19 grand for a month, and haven’t even had a call.
