A head unit less car stereo (not an empty void, that is lexan) which has a knob, aux input, and a switch to control this clusterfuck. Now I need to adequately shield the cables to get rid of the interference and reconnect the front tweeter.. it also has a mount to fit a phone.

I built a similar thing back when I had a car that was easy to break into and lived in a questionable hood. I bought a $12 four channel amp off of eBay and wired up the power, speakers, and an aux input and left a bunch of wiring sticking out of the dash to make the car appear freshly burgled.
Sounded pretty good for what it was, and never had to replace a broken window. Did all I needed.

Cool idea! Looks like it just needs a stereo blank panel now with some holes drilled in it for the 3.5mm and the knob!
I just finished putting a new head unit into my Matrix XRS last week! It had the factory JBL stereo (with a blown sub), which made it muuuch more annoying than a regular stereo job. But now it has hands free calling and bluetooth, which is nice. I really dig your approach though. Just what you need, and the phone is already a touchscreen!

It’s a marine 4 channel amp, a piece of lexan, and a phone mount. It looks terrible, but it does the job.

I’m not going to put a stereo blank (it’s a really irregular shape), but I might mask the back up and spray a coat of satin grey so it looks decent ish. I’m not going to go Bluetooth, but I find this to be a nice blank space

Have you thought about painting the Lexan to match the body color?

I need this, but I want to keep the front of my Oem radio, and hide the aux cored in the center console arm rest.
Now you need a plate to fill the hole.

Oooh I dint notice the lexan, I thought it was just an empty void

The proximity to an active air vent freaks me out with the eventual after-smell....maybe. But if so..that would be gloss black...so no..maybe a flat grey..

Oh interesting. A little 5% tint would have made that Lexan look better and hide the wires
