How much does it cost to renew the tag on a 2016 Fiesta ST in the State of South Carolina?
Winner wins nothing. People from Kansas are disqualified.

ad valorem tax? Probably. It’d be about $400-$500 here in AL. I’ll say $450.

9%-10%, including food. But the property tax is ridiculously low, so net-net it’s still one of the 10 lowest tax states in the US.
To be fair, after about 7-8 years your car is fully depreciated, so you just pay about $30/year at that point. It’s those early years that hurt because they’re based on estimated market value.

The Peoples Democratic Republic of Hellinois is pretty bad, but at least we don’t have to pay personal property tax. Paying a tax for the privilege to continue to own something you already own is fucking stupid.

Man all my cars are either $31.30 or$ 53.30 depending on the year. Yes I am in South Carolina

My 4Runner is like $25. There is a 15 year cutoff I believe.

Yeah, there’s a lot of reasons to not like Illinois, but one thing I’ve learned from Oppo is that it’s a lot cheaper and easier to keep a vehicle road legal here than in a lot of other places.

Yikes. For a basic plate here in Illinois meaning not vanity and not a special plate like the cubs or Blackhawks ones it’s 100 bucks to renew

That doesn’t seem too bad. Those other states that have super cheap tabs must have some other transportation funding source? Seems like if the state only charges $25 what’s the point - spend that much if not more just processing the mailing out all the paper work.
