France continues its status as an open air car museum.
Not just one but a brace of original model Clios
R11
R21
Safrane (bonus Peugeot 1007)
All of these are long gone back home.

Nice Renault 11, even has the same wheels:

Ye’, trying to find a Renault Safrane in the U.K. is nearly impossible.

Never popular of course. That one looked like new.
I’ve seen a few 2CVs too.

I think I see more 2CVs in the U.K. than I do 11s, 21s and Safranes put together.

The 21 and 11 are long gone here too. The mk1 Clio can still be seen quite frequently though. They made millions, they’re from the 90s and I don’t believe they had significant flaws. Safrane was never common.
Would you say the average age of cars is higher in France than in Ireland?

Yes, the country is full of Mk1 Clios and similar. I rarely see anything before 2000 back home (apart from my 1994 FTO of course)

Yes, they’re collectible. The 11, 21 and Safrane rather less so.

This makes me want to come visit! I love me some old European iron! :)

Judging from Cé hé sins comments you’d better skip Ireland then.
But on a more serious note, plane tickets aren’t even that expensive. You could even join our late June Alps rally.

Sadly I am teaching on a Term position right now until June 30th, so wouldn’t have time even though I would love to :(

Daily (as in several times a day) sight in France, as is the Peugeot 205.
