Studebaker, totally strapped for cash and not selling their dated variations of the ‘53 Loewy design totally caved to peer pressure and went full mainstream design. The biggest selling point of the ‘56 (and subsequently ‘57) cars was the wrap-around windshield. Too bad they couldn’t disguise the fact that it was really just a re-skin of the same car they had been selling since 1953.

Interesting! Can’t say I blame them, in their position I’d probably advise the same. And it’s not exactly an ugly automobile by any means
