‘’Tis a great company.

‘twas a great company

That’s completely lost in the modern world.

Used to be. Then they made a Taurus with a V8 and called it a Continental

On the one hand, yeah, okay. On the other hand, V8 TAURUS HOON

There can be only one V8 Taurus!

Googling “ugly lincolns” was not a wise move.
![]() 05/10/2017 at 21:33 |

Those tires are a lot bigger than they look . The ones on a ‘58-’60 are even bigger. The tires on a brand new base Escalade are only 32" diameter, the Lincolns are 29"/30", roughly.

Every company has the worst car this just happens to be Lincolns

There’s room for more than one version of a joke, even within the same sort of joke. Ford has whole departments working on new jokes daily.

The crossovers are quite good, the new Navigator looks promising, in the Continental isn’t bad either

You looking at new tires for the Capri?

Saw a new Conti behind me on Monday. Looked good in the wild.

I agree. I’ve seen a few. Must be selling pretty good

Like the Mark LT

I looked them up ages ago just so I’d know what I’d have to budget. Spoiler: A good bit. Not ready to cut - I don’t have the roof steel up over the operating table yet and the Galaxie is trying to pirahna my wallet one little bite at a time.

That explains why so many people run huuuge wheels in them. They look terrible.

The Blackwood is still the best joke of the 2000s, bar none. The ‘80s are a tough fight between the EXP (and the Probe) and Mustang rear suspension.

Roof? What’s wrong with the roof? It just needed a headliner I thought

I do love the design of the MKX, and MKC. Quite handsome for crossovers.

I mean the workshop roof. I have a whole area that I’ll be putting it up on subframe cribbing in, and I don’t have a roof up over that area yet. I’ve got trusses and some other parts, but I don’t have the front wall posts in place...

I still like the MKT. I’d rather have a Flex, but it some one handed me an Exoboost MKT I’d drive it. Heck I’d choose a boosted MKT over an NA Flex.

It’s easy to do. The bolt pattern is a 5/5.5, which means that anything tasteless available for a Ram or a Jeep (which is a LOT) will fit, pretty much. With how expensive the original mattresses are, tempting to a lot of people to go RIMZ.
![]() 05/10/2017 at 21:52 |

The MKC with the 2.3 is the only redeeming part of the lineup.

Nice drivetrain with a pretty decent interior... But those front ends make the Lexus predator grill and Acura’s Beak look like works of art
![]() 05/10/2017 at 22:03 |

Yeah this version of the “waterfall” is terrible. The MKZ,MKC, and current gen MKX nailed it tho

My mistake! It’s unfortunate the Galaxie is being a pirahna, but all old cars always are.

Reasonable minds will disagree I suppose

Well, at the end of the day I’ll have a nearly new 54 year old car for cheaper than a payment plan per month on anything made this century, right? #PowerOfPositiveThinking
But seriously, the front suspension should be tight now (more, once I install a crank brace), the rear will be pretty tight when I replace the shocks ($22 per, pfft), and as of today it should be as solid a runner engine-, axle-, and trans-wise as it’s going to get. I’ve got the new door seals to install tomorrow, and those and a new headliner and carpet should make it pretty quiet inside and out.
Now if I can just replace that motor mount, fix the leaking radiator, and make sure of the alignment (a little wacky, it’s been in a fender bender ages ago), and do my rust fixes, exhaust, carpet, and headliner, I’ll be basically *done*. That seems like a big list, but it’s not bad at all. Paint job some number of miles down the road - not pressing.

Now, I won’t have that. My Intech Continental was a great car. Eons ahead of where any American car had right to be in the mid 1990s.

If a car could look like the word “boulevard,” this would be it.

It wasn’t a Continental though.

That actually doesn’t seem that bad. Good luck!
