I don’t know if it’s still true, but Lufthansa used to be exceedingly generous with the food and drink. I still recall flying from LHR-FRA on an A319 in business, and I had about 3 glasses of wine and they were coming around the cabin with 2nd helpings of the chicken - on a 50 minute flight!!

But what if Wade Boggs was on the plane?

There are better German beers around but better than nothing.

Still true! I was on a 7 hour flight with them, I think we were offered 4 glasses of wine during dinner alone. Shortly before dinner we were offered beer. After dinner we were offered Baileys or Brandy. It was hilarious. I would’ve been tanked if I would’ve taken them up on all their offers. Not ideal for a flight arriving at 6am in the morning in Frankfurt.

Funny story. 18 (ish) years ago I went to Germany for about 10 days. On the flight back, the plane ran out of German beer and only had Domestics left. Everyone on the plane was bummed out. lol

Haha - yeah, if you keep saying ‘yes, please’ to them, you’ll really regret it when you land! The food was always pretty good, too—

Yep, I had no complaints! I ended up with them because they are a United partner. I also have no major complaints about United, despite recent rumblings, I’ve always gotten what I expected. They certainly offer less booze, but I tend to limit myself to one beer or one glass of wine anyway, being that dehydration is a bad thing, especially so when flying.

Also, those are better than most mainstream American beers. It’s all about perspective.
