I saw this same car on the highway leaving the Uber Region Fest last year, and this year I was able to attend and see it up close. It’s roped off, so you can’t get too close to it. You can get all up in the personal space of a Carrera GT, though.

Oh the Carrera GT. One of only two cars that I was genuinely scared driving. The other was the Viper GTS. Legitimately thought both of those cars were trying to kill me every time I shifted gears.

The whole experience was glorious. I’m not going to lie. I loved every part of that machine from the shifter knob to the clutch to the brakes.
I had it on a windy back road and I think if I had more time with it I would have either killed myself or had a sexual experience with it. I only got to drive it for 20 minutes but ... would hoon again.

I get to drive my own special Porsche in the form of a 356a in the next week to week and a half or so and I’m both excited and very scared of meeting one of my heroes.

good for you. I can’t wait until I can afford to purchase my 94 Carrera S.
I used to sell Porsches. I have driven quite a few 356's some in great shape and more in not so great shape. Let me know what you think.

This is a real one that is actually a driver so I think a lot of it has been sorted out pretty well. A lot of the wear parts have been replaced by VW part because otherwise 356 clutches etc get expansive. It’s super nice though overall. It sounds mean but I doubt it being any bit of fast.
