The company where Doug DeMuro bought his R32 GTR, Japanese Classics, has imported those into the US for a relatively reasonable price (considering it’s sourced, inspected, and shipped across the Pacific). The newest one you can get is only a 92 still but hey, good condition JDM diesel hilux for under $10k.

Gotta have the Hilux Surf field monitor.
Fun fact: Subaru actually offered this same exact system on some of the early Foresters with English units.
