Is that it’s really good on gas.

I get around 25-30 city and 37-45 highway. Real world driving. That’s pretty good. The 1.8t is also a PZEV engine so that’s good for the environment and shit.

Side note, Foresters get shit gas mileage. Friend only gets 22 city in his 2017 with the NA 4 banger.

I actually believe PZEV has more to do with the fuel system than the engine. Something about no fuel vapors escaping from the system.

That seems about right. My parents average around those numbers when they drive the Passat. Me? 18-22 city/35-40 highway.

That really is spectacular - the best gas mileage vehicle I ever had was an 86 Civic hatch base with the highly anemic 1.3 4cyl. It would get 38-39 combined if you were careful. But it only had 14hp and took 27 minutes to get to 60mph....
