The name “Bombe” is apparently derived from the Polish icecream snack “bomba”. Which I supect makes this Android V0.01.
Also; These photos are of a reproduction. Officially, all the bombes were destroyed at the end of WWII. However it is rumoured GCHQ (the UK version of NSA) kept an original. Just in case all those technothrillers are right and the Nazis ARE holed up under a mountain somewhere, plotting a comeback.
(Yes, I’ve just been to Bletchley Park. Gotta be some perks to too much work travel. It’s a night for geek shit).

I’m a huge Stephenson fan - he can make infodumps interesting like you wouldn’t believe. The Baroque Cycle’s even better.

I need to read more of his novels. This is the only one I’ve read so far.
