Northeastern Oppos, this is a call to arms! Man your wrenches!

We need crew for STPR, June 1-3 in Wellsboro, PA. No rally experience is necessary, though it’s certainly a plus, as is having your own tools. Crew members will be compensated with full lodging and food for the duration of the event. The car is the high flying GTI pictured above. It’s an old car, but it’s a good car and is in the midst of a full overhaul. We intend to win.

The rally currently has 55 entries, including the two factory Subaru entries, a “Chevy Supertruck,” and a 1983 Audi Quattro. The event usually garners big crowds and great action. It also includes the only side-by-side stage in the championship, which is held at the end of the day right by the service area, meaning crew members are able to spectate.

Looking into it. If I can do this I can only be there Friday by noon and then rest of weekend as needed. BTW, do you need me to bring anything to Chillicothe in the way of tools. Its no trouble to bring extra jack stands, jack, breaker bar, asst tools, etc.

Probably the same one. It won 5 out of 7 stages at Black River before breaking an axle (the two stages it didn’t win were due to catching a car and getting a flat respectively). At ESPR it beat everyone except Millen.

Now it’s faster.

We’re all set for Ohio, that one’s a two-car operation with sufficient tools, crew, etc. STPR in PA two weeks later is the one where we need everything.

Sorry I can’t commit to PA rally. Too short a notice to get time off at work and wife’s okay too. Would have been fine if I’d known sooner. Keep me in mind for next year and I can help with Ohio and PA. See you this weekend.

Sadly, I now can’t make it. Since your original post, my mom went and bought tickets for my father and I to go to the Nascar race in Dover that weekend as a Father’s Day gift. We’ve driven past that track a hundred times but we’ve never gone to a race there. Good luck in the Pennsylvania wilderness. Hopefully I’ll get to a rally one of these days as a spectator.
