I’ve lived in this town for eight years now, and the entire time there has been a hero daily driving a first gen Corvair sedan. People just don’t daily classics around here, but this guy does. Even in the winter. It used to be one that was light blue and rusty. Either he fixed it or replaced it, because now he has this really nice dark blue one. I love the color, it’s kind of a dusty blue, it’s very classy looking.

I see him all the time, but we’re usually both moving. I finally got some (bad) pictures. I hope to meet him someday. I want to shake his hand.

Someone at my workplace DD’s a blue coupe. Despite being “unsafe at any speed” they seem to be pretty durable and reliable machines.

That’s awesome. And takes dedication around Chicago.

I wonder what he does for heat, as the original units were literal death traps that they made people remove.

I’ve always wondered that myself.

This is good. My grandpa drove a Corvair pickup or a Monza every day for at least two decades. He had the van too but never drove it. My mom has a bunch of baby pictures of me in a car seat in both of them.
