No one expects the Formula Oppo! Our chief weapon is surprise, fear and surprise; two chief weapons, fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency! Er, among our chief weapons are: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, and near fanatical devotion to the Pope! Um, I’ll come in again...
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Hot damn, no one saw that coming. Ferrari locked out the front row for the start of the race, but Bottas stormed to the front and built up a commanding lead. Sebastian started mounting a charge and when Valteri pitted and Sebastian stayed out, it looked like that was it for Mercedes hopes. But the flying Fin managed to retake the lead and fend off the Ferrari to the end. Kimi had a safe third and Lewis was just off form floundering in fourth. Meanwhile at McLaren...
This week we head to Spain, where Alonso gets to DNF in front of his home crowd... On the opposite end of the spectrum, holy shit, we might actually have a legitimate title fight on our hands. Ferrari has found their legs again and Mercedes knows it. Now if only Renault could find a bit more ponies...

WOO! Finally, a track with a Mythic Corner.
Vettel for pole and win, Bottas 2nd, Ricciardo 3rd. No cursing, even if McHonda will inevitably break down.

Q - Hamilton
1 - Kimi FTW
2 - Bottas
3 - Seb
I really have no idea how this will play out, but here’s what I’m leaning towards
Lewis and Seb have less than stellar histories at this track while Kimi and Bottas seem to always do well here. Bottas had to revert to his original engine and lost running in FP3, so will be down on power while the relatively short run to T1 could play into what seems like a slight advantage for Ferrari during the initial launch. If not, overcut since the option is the medium and everyone’s starting on softs. Towards the end of the race, a frustrated Seb gets increasingly whiny about blue flags with Lewis behind him while both Bottas and Kimi tell their engineers to leave them alone as they battle for the lead til the end.
