This Lexus just pulled up in front of my table outside, and in addition to almost being eaten by the predator grill I noticed I was being watched.

For the most part, in the US, I don’t see a point to having them. Unless you regularly go places you want to remember, track days, off roading, scenic drives, but that’s a small group these days.

It’s for insurance, mostly.

Second this.

Mine has also paid off in the (sad) “misuse of the vehicle” category.

Also paid off in capturing footage of a rented Mustang slamming into a Tim Hortons sign in the most Buffalo crash ever.

Hmm... let me see what I can do. The video isn’t the greatest as I didn’t keep up with the driver intentionally (you know, driving safely) but just barely caught the sign impact. Got an up close of the final carnage nevertheless. I do want to edit out the dude’s face, though. Nobody needs their DUI check on the Internet (I have no idea if he was drunk or not, I’m willing to bet more an unskilled driver.)

All said, best part was the stunned look of the Lackawanna cops going, “wait, you’ve got a dashcam in that thing?”
