She’s home in the garage. Much easier than the 944 to move around in there, because no fender flares or a wide posterior.
Oh! So here’s a fun-fact. The ‘79-80 924 Turbos came with a G31 5-speed manual. the ‘81-83 Turbos came with the same Audi-sourced transmission that in the 944. But what’s unique about the G31 is that they’re genuine Porsche transmissions, being a derivative of the 915 Gearbox that was used in the 911 until 1987......And............
Something, something, race pedigree....Something, something, race car. Here’s a very short K-Log.
Here’s the last pic of the 944. God’s speed, you magnificent red dream.

Those transmissions are known for being very strong. I sold my 944 about 10 days ago. I miss it a bit but I would miss it less if I had traded it for a 924 turbo!

In the U.S. I believe the power figures between the 931 and 944 were very close, maybe a slight advantage to the 931 in terms of weight. But they should have similar 0-60 times. But, like any turbo engine, people got a lot more out of them and more easily through intercoolers, increasing boost pressure, etc than people got out of 944s through cams, head work, etc.
