I’m betting not. The demand is already so insane that they’ve decided to offer no test drives or do any advertising for it for at least the first 6 months of sales. The only thing this really compares with is a car like the LaFerrari (F70). I’m pretty sure they’d sold every single one of them before the press was allowed to get their hands on one for a real instrumented test and extended drive. Honestly, if I was Elon, I wouldn’t let the press near it. He’s got nothing to gain and plenty to lose if there’s anything negative that comes out about it.

Tesla won’t, but owners will. If I go through with my order, I’ll drive it over to Torch’s house and let him have a go. I won’t even need to hit a Supercharger on the way.

Wether Elon likes it or not, the press will get their hands on those. Ferrari can withhold F70's customer future buys, at least one of the 100000 Tesla 3 owners wouldn’t care less I’m afraid. I’m dead curious how it will hold up against it’s competition. If there is any...

Yes, definitely. Just wonder if Telsa will be the one who provides them.

I reserved the morning of the reveal at about 11:30am EST, so pretty early. That said, not a current Tesla owner and I’m on the east coast. Super disappointed that they’re not offering the “D” until 6-9 months after launch, because that was one of the options I was definitely going to choose.

Knowing what “we” just “came up with” I’d be surprised if they didn’t. You never know what a good relation with the automotive press will bring you.
