And then to implement any changes you have to create an entirely new system because we’ve been using a system that’s decades old that should have been scrapped years ago

Working in IT for a major banking company is much the same way.... even when they try to make changes.

If you haven’t already been to the website, go to despair.com to see more of these. They’re quite good. A number have been discontinued over the years, but you were still able to see them, but I don’t know if that’s still the case.
