Driving without a license plate is a new-to-me thing now I guess. No temporary tags or anything I could see. Weird Mecury Sable.
Bonus points to whomever can guess what kinda car I was in.

bought a car near home. drive it without plates from seller to home. i’ve done it a few times.
I don’t want my new to me car sitting at seller’s home who may have extra keys. I trust no one.

In Michigan you can legally drive without plates for 3days after purchasing a car if you have the signed title in hand.

Couldn’t you just keep the title in the car, then write in yesterday’s date when you get pulled over?
But this is a way better system than we have in New Hampshire. The buyer is either driving home on the seller’s plates (risky for seller), some other plates (risky for buyer), or you have to meet in the seller’s town office parking lot (or DMV) during their regular hours which of course don’t include weekends or evenings, when private sales generally occur.

I guess you could. I have yet to get pulled over driving without plates. I’m not sure if cops just didn’t notice, didn’t care, or just assumed I had just bought the car.

Similar in Colorado, but the time limit is 36 hours when bought from a private seller.

Temp tags up front? When I first bought my Z I had my temp tags high on the front windshield since my rear window was tinted pretty dark.
