Kinja'd!!!

Brand spanking new Vette still wrapped in plastic smashed.

I spotted this on my weekly local dealership tour.

A close up of the damage.

I’m thinking the very same. With no insurance claim or police report the carfax would still be squeaky clean.

Happens all the time, even before they reach the dealership, during transport they can sometimes get damaged.

There is usually a body shop at car transport hubs just for that reason.

Yep, still an expensive screw up, but the buyer will likely never know.

that doesn’t look like the normal protective film used on production cars, it looks more like a car cover.

Saw a load of vettes wrapped up just like this the other day. Thought it was weird but apparently that’s the way the new ones get shipped.

This happens all the time. Acura CL Type S that I had suffered peeling paint Fromm rock chip 2 months after I bought it. Body shop at another dealer quickly identified it was not a factory job, dealer I bought it from tried to claim I did it with a power washer before finally agreeing to fix it at no cost (but without a loaner.....)

They’re shipped like that from the factory. The cars are expensive enough to require more care but not enough to be transported inside of a covered transport. When we did the plant tour this summer they have someone inspect it and then immediately put it in a cover to prevent damage before it even sees a carrier.

I live near Nashville(about an hour and a half max from Bowling Green)and travel I40 between Nashville and Knoxville so seeing a transport full of Corvettes wrapped just like this happens very often.
