As HammerheadFistpunch noted, that’s an E-Series van (well the cutaway version) rather than a pickup. The E-Series/Econoline was what we had up until it was replaced by the current generation Transit (and actually I think the cutaway is still being made so that these custom jobs don’t need to switch to the new platform immediately). It’s also one of my favorite of Jason’s illustrations:

Fun fact: Not sure what year it is, but current E-450s are only available with a 6.8 V10, SOHC, 2 valves per cylinder, making 305 hp @ 4250, 420 lb-ft @ 3250, through a 6-speed torque converter automatic - we’re far, far more reluctant to do the whole downsize and turbocharge thing, and we demand more acceleration out of our vehicles (but then run them at lower speeds). (Before, they had a 6.0 V8 turbodiesel, that was legendary for being terrible, but it no longer meets emissions standards.)

And, yes, as the others have said, that’s an extremely normal camper here. Cheaper than something built for the purpose, cheaper than one based on a European van, and roomier than something that’s van bodied.

That’s a pretty typical American RV setup, but I can’t imagine driving one on European roads.

The camper question has been answered, but the car has not. Besides a CRX it could be a Citroen C4 coupe as well. Same basic shape, much more common than a CRX. 4 bolt wheels match, although I don’t recognize the wheel design.
