Would you rather buy a new VW or new Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep? Speaking from a reliability and maintenance standpoint, which one do you have more confidence in?

3rd option, jump off a cliff with a parachute that has the combined reliability of VW and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.

VW... Sadly

The VW. At least the VW pretends to be nice.

VW, hands down.
Both my parents buy only FCA, so I’ve had enough experience with that level of reliability.

The VW. Because GTI/Golf R. FCA has very little I care about. Plus, my girlfriend’s dad’s Jeep is already rusting hard, and it’s a year old.

VW. The Atlas looks nice and I love the R. Meanwhile I have two family members with a Jeep GC and a Ram and they have tons of problems and the dealership doesn’t have a fix.

VW. Not sure if it will be more reliable, but surely it will be better built

Considering my next door neighbor just took her 50k mile Dodge in today to fix a control arm, snapped parking brake cable, and a recalled tailgate that can somehow set the car on fire, I’ll take my chances with a VW.

So wrangler rubicon or golf R? Probably FCA. If it was Golf R vs a Chrysler 200 I’d go VW.

FCA, so when I’m standing on the side of the road, it’ll be next to something interesting.

So Jeep>VW>Chrysler?
![]() 04/27/2017 at 22:35 |

Dodge because but only an SRT Durango. It’s just too cool.

Yes. That’s my final answer.

woever is better at honoring the warranty

the Chryco will be cheaper to fix. And the dealer employees will be less insufferable..

That’s a real Sophie’s choice.
I guess I’ll take my chances on a Plum Cray Purple Challenger. At least it’s pretty.

Too true about the employees, I can’t figure out why the VW salespeople think they sell Bentleys.

VW, as long as it’s gas powered, by far. Say what you will about VW, but they aren’t owned by cost-cutting Italians using parts from 20 years ago developed in a basement meth lab in Pocatello, Idaho*.
*What I’m trying to say is that FCA don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.

Iknowright? What is with that attitude? The fuckin’ Audi dealer is WAY less stuck up..

I haven’t had a Chrysler product so I have to say VW. My 1.4 TSI has ran good the 3 years I’ve owned it and my sisters 2.5 Jetta has been great for 6.

Good question. I would probably say that the VW would have have a higher quality interior which would be a nicer place to sit whilst waiting for a tow truck and be more enjoyable to drive between the inevitable failures and breakdowns.

VW, mostly because I’ve been talking to a German girl lately.

Toyota, that’s what I feel ok with.

Stictly VW badge, or any VAG brand?
![]() 04/27/2017 at 23:08 |

Strictly VW or lower, Chrysler/Dodge/ Jeep doesn’t compete with Audi or higher

Just wanted to be sure, it’s a tough call but I’d go VW. I like them more. Can I get it as a SEAT though?

Since new Vipers can still be bought, I’ll go Dodge.
It’s funny because the Viper is one of my absolute favorite cars, and yet you couldn’t pay me to own anything else Chrysler makes.
If it can’t be a Viper then it’s a draw, as both companies produce nothing but shiny garbage. These are companies you only want to lease from, if for some reason you couldn’t be bothered to actually have checked out good, reliable cars from just about any other manufacturer.

What do you plan to do with it?
On-Road: VW. Particularly the Golf. The only half-decent car Chrysler makes is the Charger/300.
Off-Road: Jeep. The Wrangler is far better for this than any vehicle VW sells in the US.
SUV: VW, but its ugly.
Truck: You don’t have an option.
