I guess there maybe a road under there somewhere..

I find it particularly funny when people trying to sell cars post pictures of them doing burnouts in the ad.

BUY NOW while the tires still have tread on them! I will be performing one burnout per day until sold, so ACT FAST!

The “only works on speed five because knob is bad” thing is horseshit too. In all likelihood it requires a dash crawl to replace the resistor pack.

Also, if it’s only $35, why wouldn’t you just fix it? A flawlessly functioning anything will net you more money than a conditionally operating thing that just needs some sort of minor repair.

I have reached a “so tired of fixing minor issues I simply cannot be fucked” state with things before, but in this case... no.

It’s like a Dutch Auction! But more like Douche Auction.

He forgot to add “4WD make it unpossible get stuck.” This whole ad is so terrible, and not even ESL (which is forgivable), just terrible. Fine if you’re selling a $10 trinket, but not a car.

Maybe it’s an amphibious exploration vehicle?

Definitely. I’ve had that happen on 2 GM vehicles. If you can get to it, it’s an easy fix. If you can get to it.

I had inside info - Opponaut KusabiSensei (one of my college buddies) had one go on his Silverado of that ilk.

It happened on our 2004 Envoy. Only worked on 3+. Took me 10 minutes to replace since it was, thankfully, just below the glove box.

Yep... Definitely BMR, definitely a PITA on a GMT800, but doable.

My personal favorite variation of this is “needs head gaskets. Already bought gaskets, just need to be installed.”

Yep. Almost bought an NC Miata. Found the guy’s instagram. It included him clutch dumping, huge burnouts, and towing a trailer & motorcycle with it. Just awful.

“same as Tahoe or Yukon just longer with more room” just in case you don’t know what a suburban is and you’ve never heard of this new fangled nameplate from GM that they just started using in 1935...
