Dear Opponauts -
In my free time I created a neat tool that can take most 2013+ vehicles and turn that VIN into either a:
Decoded build sheet (full options)
Monroney Sticker
Internal OEM window sticker with options
I’m missing a few major brands:
Kia
Mercedes (I have one that gives codes in bad German translation)
BMW (I have one that gives codes in bad German translation)
Mitsubishi (although no one buys these)
Ferrari (Everyone wants one but few people buy)
Jaguar
Volvo
Range Rover
Does anyone have a means to get these VIN’s decoded into full build sheets (not the crappy year/make/model breakouts that just include standard features).
The tool is here (and it doesn’t properly work for mobile yet) if you’d like a sneak-peek.

No clue, but since the dealer removed my window sticker, I am curious. I think Kinja ate your link though. Good luck with your endeavors!

Try this and let me know how it works: http://www.wikilender.com/ultimate-window-sticker-vin-decoder-tool/ hopefully Kinja won’t eat that one.

Sweet! Sadly my only newer that 2013 vehicle is my work van.. The site works great though. Cool tool I’ll definitely pass this around.

I didn’t listen, I tried it on mobile. The link works though. I’ll give it a try when I get access to an actual computer! Thanks!

You might have trouble with Volvo. From what I’ve heard, they only keep records of build sheets for two years.

You’re just trying to get all our VINs.
However, it worked for my car.

I always use bimmer.work for BMWs but I dunno if that’s what you already have or how that helps you. You can find the full options sheets for all years on BMW forums and match the codes if the English translations don’t do it for you.
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

I think the best one around for BMW is “bimmer.work” (that’s a web address, just plug it into your browser bar.) It’ll give you a full option sheet with both english and german translations along with additional info like build date and plant. Try it with the last 7 of my VIN (BY18649) and you’ll see what I mean.

Even 2 years is great though. I can’t even get a single one right now!

Very cool, I’ll try it when I get home. Can’t help on decoding those extra brands, though, sorry.

Chris we have been using your tool for months and it is amazing and helps us save time on appraisals and marketing our cars, but this week it stopped working any news?

This is a great tool!
BMW it lists everything out, but it works- https://www.bmwvin.com/
MB, Same as the BMW one - https://www.datamb.com/
Mitsubishi, you just need to update the VIN at the end - https://www.mitsubishicars.com/rs/file/monroney?vin=JA32W8FV3EU016233
Please let us know if you figure out how to get Jaguar, Land Rover, and Volvo!

Hey Chris, is this not working because you were utilizing the Edmunds open source API? The whole project looks great! It’s so hard to access the info from manufacturers...

Did you sell site to Carvana? I tried to pull a window sticker on an Audi and VW Golf but it redirected me to Carvana .com. If so, do you have another website that we can use to find out more info and research without having to get hassled to sign on? Please let me know... Carvana just ruined this website for all the consumers trying to be smart and do their research.

Chris - Carvana seems to have eaten the VIN tool (no longer found on their site). Any chance you will reenable your site for window sticker generation?
