I know I just posted about an already on the go project I have. But this is only 5 minutes from me, and is less than a grand. A guy I know talked the owner down to $500 before he decided he didn’t want to put floors in it. Like it’s rotted, but what Pinto/Bobcat isn’t? I hate body work, but I’ll make an exception for this. Oddly enough the body itself is fine save for the rear quarters around the wheel well (no idea what’s behind the wood paneling), just the floors are gone. I’m going there on Friday and if he’ll take $500 it’s coming home with me.

Stop me from making a bad decision Oppo.

I’ll bet if you tried, you could get it for $200 and a case of beer.

Of course! And then the install of an SVO Mustang’s turbo 2.3.

That has been my thinking. Either find a trashed SVO or Merkur and drop the motor and trans in. I also have an ‘87 Grand Marquis that’s being turned into a demo derby car and it has the 5.0L in it. I though about that as a swap briefly but it just seems like overkill.

Those are sweet hubcaps. The car looks very similar to my 88' Eagle. $500... drive it till it dies.

An Eagle is 1000 times cooler. If I could find one running for under $1500 I’d run with it. I’m still kicking myself for not picking up an ‘82 AMC Spirit liftback for $600 when I had the chance. That’s why I want to pounce on this.

You know and I know that the answer to the question ‘ Should I buy x car for $500 ' is always yes.

Only buy it if that tarp underneath conveys... methinks it may leak.

I’ve been happily surprised with how well the 4wd works in snow. Add good tires to the mix and it’s even better. Only negative so far is the vacuum system and carb. The system is a snake pit. But I’ll be ripping most of it out this summer for an engine rebuild so it’ll end up ok.
