I would present them with this. I wouldn’t use it in a sensitive application, but, man, for repairing things like vacuum cleaner and garden hoses? This thing is amazing .

It’s really handy. It’s basically electrical tape that only adheres to itself forms a seal from the tension of stretching it.

I watched a couple of videos on it, and saw one application where it was used to seal a leaky pipe while the water was still turned on and everything was wet. Pretty cool!
Then there was another video where somebody was bummed that the stuff was swelling up like a balloon when they tried it on their pressure washer hose. So like you said, I guess it’s best to just use it on milder applications...
