My dad has one in hunter green with those wheels. It’s gorgeous, somehow.

I have mixed feelings about the Q50. It strikes me more as a sports sedan than a true luxury car.

The interior doesn’t feel very premium and certain features that you would expect to be common place are somewhat hard to get, such as memory seating. I challenge you to find a used one with memory seats.

Then there is the fact that many features are only available as a bundle with their direct adaptive steering. But with the das, the car doesn’t even fall under the sports category. The steering just doesn’t feel even remotely natural.

But the engine options are decent at least. The vq37 is kinda grainy but pulls decently. The hybrid vq35 is decently quick and doesn’t exhibit many negative characteristics. The new vr30detts are kinda nice, but there are ZERO tuning options. The turbo 4 is anemic and sad.

The 7 speed auto is meh. Not bad and not special. I’d rank it below the ZF 8 speed and the  Lexus 8 speed, but above GM’s 6 speed auto in the older ats. Haven’t tested their new 8 speed that’s standard as of 2017 (I think).

Reliability is questionable at best. There have been a steady stream of complaints and issues with the dual infotainment screens. Everything from lag, to outright failure. The das was plagued with issues in the beginning as well. Finally, I’ve heard whispers of weird issues surrounding the vr30, such as idle and surging issues.

It’s not a bad car, but I’m convinced there are better choices out there.

Wrote this on my phone without proofing and too lazy to go back to check anything.

This exist too. It’s a Q70 L. My house is literally 20 minutes from Nissan NA HQ and I had no clue.

The hybrid is blast to drive. So much instant torque. I was quite pleasantly surprised when I got to drive one.
