I stumbled upon this car when searching for pictures of a 944 Turbo with Kinesis Supercup wheels. This particular car just so happens to have basically every appearance upgrade I’d put on a 944 Turbo. It belongs to user !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on Rennlist. I don’t know him, but his car is awesome. So here are some pretty pictures!
Aside from the aforementioned beautiful Kinesis Supercup wheels, this car has:
GT Racing front splitter
968 side mirrors
968 door handles
968 rear spoiler
GT Racing slim rear bumper
Clear front turn signals
Red rear turn signals
It’s also got a bunch of spiffed up interior bits including carbon fiber trim, a 930 steering wheel, and some other goodies.
Sadly, the car no longer has the Kinesis Supercup wheels on it, but their replacements are pretty alright too. It’s also apparently gained a 944 Turbo S-style front fender
turbo
decal.
Lord I love this car so much.

Super clean - only things I’m not digging are the front splitter and rear wing, just prefer the stock variants of those. Gorgeous 944 though.

Technically that wing is also stock, it came on the ’90-’91 EU-spec 944 Turbo and S2.

I wouldn’t LS swap a 944 turbo unless it was already beat to hell. That’s what regular 944s are for.

Hell, I’d LS swap a Bugatti Veyron. Better engine than damned near everything out 99.9% of the time.

I think I might actually like it better if it was painted black - being red makes it look a little tacked on.
That said, I looooooove that rear bumper. Makes the 951 look so much better.

I appreciate a fine LS-swapped automobile. There are plenty of nice light weight front engine rear drive chassis out there that are only improved by slapping an LS motor in them.
But my point is that sometimes there’s a cool motor in there already. If you want an LS swap, start with a car that’s already at donor status. Not something that could be cool on its own.
240SX? Ok fine since they’re only cool with swaps anyway. Miata? Sure, since you’d have to turbo the boring stock motor to make it interesting.
RX-7, I’m of two minds about it. I love the FD and I think the rotary is part of its character, but it’s also terribly unreliable. That said, I’d rather have a 3-rotor swapped FD than an LS-swapped one. But a non-turbo FC? Go ahead.
944, same basic idea as the RX-7, except the turbo is a rather more stout motor than a turbo rotary.

Here’s a stock EU-spec ’90-’91 944 S2.
The wing is black and the bumper is a low-profile unit, but with a black rubber strip on it.
Actually it also came on the US-spec ’90-’91 944 S2. But ’89 was the last year for the turbo in the US.
Honestly I think the 968-style wing is too subtle when black, so I’d either go for it painted or stick with the earlier duckbill style wing.
