4 reelz dis tyme!
If you died right now and had two choices.
1) Completely cease to exist
or
2) Re-live your life exactly the same, but have no memory of your previous exact same life. So you would literally re-live your life, experiencing everything for the first time again, exactly the same as the life before.
PS: For all you know, you’ve relived this life 1,000 times already and don’t remember.
Which would you chose?
Ford GT for you existential crisis inducing time.

I fail to see a difference between the two options from my perspective, or from any perspective for that matter. If I am unable to maintain any memory or thought upon ‘reincarnation’ then my consciousness as it currently exists is completely erased from existence regardless of which I chose. Whether this process happens once or repeatedly is ultimately irrelevant if nothing is preserved between cycles.
I do suppose option “1” does seem slightly less appealing on the face of it but only because the phrase “completely cease to exist” incites more of a sense of existential dread, but ultimately in terms of conscious beings they are in fact the same.
