Today in a nutshell. After spending 2 weeks working with a supplier my manager wants to get another quote from a random company we have never worked with starting the whole process over again.

My substitute phrase is usually “Fantastic!” But yeah, pretty much the same thing.

I was on a video conference yesterday and I saw one of our Storage Engineers walk behind one of the meeting attendees, open the cupboard, pull out a bottle of bourbon and pour himself a glass. Yeah ADULTING.

Down South the applicable phrase is, “well bless your heart.”

In my younger days at GM, we would say “you’re number 1!”

Once the offender left the room, a different finger was used.

In my office, I tend to go with “yes, sir.” Far more condescending, but my coworkers are unsure about the tone.

I really couldnt give a shit lately, and its truly getting very bad.

Lol. My store does that. The managers have a meeting to discuss what they are going to do (absolute f*** all usually), then an hour later having a meeting to discuss whether what was discussed at the previous meeting was done and either what to do next or why the thing they were supposed to do hasn’t been done. This continues every hour of the day shift (night shift, you fend for yourself, pull your finger out and get some work done.

It’s a supermarket, what’s to discuss so often, especially when they do f*** all as I say.

Everyone flies out of the meeting and spends the next 3 hours catching up.

I’ve been in a weird balance for the last year between staying/going. right after new years my manager goes to me “___out today. just because his kid is in the hospital i hope he doesn’t plan on taking the whole week off....Oh I have a meeting”

Kinja'd!!!

I always had my suspicions that he was a horrible self-centered narcissist. Its a little easier when you know they are a horrible self-centered narcissist.

For sure, ive been at my job for just about a year, but luckily in the face of all the family issues Ive had to deal with in the past two weeks, the owner of the company has shown the greatest level of respect about it. I had a couple of planned days off for something else, but I ended up being out most of the week, and when I made it back, the only discussion was how things are going and if theyre getting better. I may not be expressly happy at work given all the internal shit that goes on, but if the owner can put aside work to say family comes first, thats the most important thing he could have ever done to make me rethink leaving, even for just a little while.

Management overall sucks, but the owner knows whats most important at the end of the day, even if we have disagreements at times.
